Job Description
Missions
Experimentally investigate the propagation of elastic waves in topological metamaterials at the micro/nanoscale and at GHz frequencies. Characterize coupling efficiency and demonstrate the robustness of topological waveguiding in the presence of defects.
Activity
Implementation of pump–probe picosecond acoustics experiments; 2D spatio-temporal mapping of elastic wave fields; optimization of wave generation and injection using a spatial light modulator (SLM); analysis of dispersion curves, mode confinement, losses, and scattering; comparison with numerical simulations.
Your Profil
Skills
Experimental optics and ultrafast lasers, acoustics/wave physics, data processing and analysis. Knowledge of metamaterials, phononics, pump–probe techniques, and/or numerical simulations would be an asset.
Your Work Environment
A four-year collaborative ANR project bringing together INSP–Sorbonne University, IEMN–University of Lille, and C2N–Paris-Saclay University, combining numerical modeling, nanofabrication, and experimental characterization.
Constraints and risks
Work with optical setups involving ultrafast lasers and handling of fragile micro/nanostructured samples. Compliance with laser safety procedures and laboratory experimental protocols.
