Job Description
Missions
Conduct a clinical study on speed-of-sound imaging of breast tisues for the detection and characterization of tumors. The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether matrix sound-speed tomography can improve the diagnosis of different types of breast lesions and provide a more accurate prediction of whether they are malignant or benign compared to standard breast cancer imaging techniques (ultrasound B-mode, shear wave elastography, mammography).
Activity
Data collection:
- Acquisition of radiofrequency ultrasound data and shear-wave elastography images during the patient's breast ultrasound examination for different probe positions and placements using an ultrasound scanner
Ultrasound Data Post-processing:
- Mapping of sound velocity in breast tissues
- B-mode image correction based on the sound velocity map
- Mapping of the fibrous distribution in breast tissues
- Mapping of ultrasound absorption and scattering in breast tissues
Statistical analysis of various maps of sound velocity, fiber distribution, and absorption/scattering coefficients in relation to the results of biopsies, mammography, B-mode ultrasound, and shear wave elastography.

Your Work Environment
The position is based at the Institut Langevin laboratory https://www.institut-langevin.espci.fr/home. This is a full-time position. The postdoc is funded by the ERC POC DIONISOS project, which focuses on sound-speed imaging in breast tissues.
