Missions

A postdoctoral position is available as part of the ERC Consolidator GENESIS project “Geo-inspired pathways towards nanoparticle-based metastable solids.” The objective of this position is to understand the mechanisms of crystallization in high-temperature synthesis environments and to understand the catalytic properties of the resulting materials using transmission electron microscopy. The researcher will be responsible for these microscopy studies and will work directly with other team members who synthesize these materials and characterize them using other techniques, including synchrotron radiation.

Activités

- Experimental research in transmission electron microscopy
- Participation in synchrotron measurement campaigns
- Bibliographic monitoring
- Oral and written communication of work
- Active participation in the team's collaborative work

Compétences

The candidate must have expertise in transmission electron microscopy applied to materials science, with skills in in situ and operando techniques. A strong enthusiasm for experimental research is expected, as well as a good level of English (written and spoken). Particular attention will be paid to the quality of scientific writing.

Contexte de travail

The group is recognized for its expertise in designing nanomaterials with a wide range of compositions, from metal oxides to non-oxide compounds and alloys. We are particularly focused on developing nanomaterials for energy conversion using electrocatalysis, both in an academic context and in collaboration with industry. The researcher will work closely with other members of the group, particularly doctoral and postdoctoral students who will be responsible for routine synthesis and characterization. He or she must be able to work in a collaborative environment and as part of an international team (https://david-portehault.lcmcp.science/). He or she will actively participate in weekly group meetings and laboratory seminars.

Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
