Missions
The LCPME is looking for a qualified and motivated postdoctoral researcher to participate in a research project involving the development of antibacterial coatings on 3D metal parts. The main objective will be to functionalize the surface of these 3D metal parts, obtained by additive manufacturing, with a coating based on metal oxide nanoparticles. This coating must have a dual functionality: it must be biocompatible to promote the adhesion and proliferation of host cells, while preventing bacterial adhesion and colonization.
Activités
- Elaborate coatings based on metal oxide nanoparticles (ZnO) using chemical and electrochemical methods
- Optimise the structure and the chemical compoistion for the targeted application
- Characterise the morphology, the strcture and the chemical stability of the coatings
Additionnally :
- Participate in project progress meetings
- Write articles and project reports
- Supervising interns
Compétences
- PhD degree in chemistry, material science or relavent domaines.
- Experience in nanomaterial synthesis and surface treatment.
- Experience in electrochemistry (electrodeposition, EIS), vibrational spectroscopy (IR, Raman) and SEM.
- Excellent oral and writing in English. French is not mandatory.
- Self-motivated independent working in a collaborative environment.
- An interest in (micro)biology would be appreciated.
Contexte de travail
The work is part of the ANR PRC ICARUS-FALL project, which aims to develop surface treatments for 3D-printed metal lattice prostheses in order to address the challenges of fatigue resistance, corrosion, biocompatibility, osseointegration, and bacterial infection prevention.
The work will be carried out at the LCPME – Laboratory of Physical Chemistry and Microbiology for Materials and the Environment (https://www.lcpme.ul.cnrs.fr/) located in Villers-lès-Nancy. The candidate will join the ELAN (Analytical Chemistry and Electrochemistry) and SIMAVI (Spectroscopy of Material and Living Interfaces) teams at the LCPME.
