Job Description

Missions

This work falls under the topic of e-fuels.
It will involve studying the behavior of methanol synthesis catalysts under varying reaction conditions, proposing an associated kinetic model, and implementing the reaction kinetics into a comprehensive reactor model.

- Definition of the dynamic conditions relevant to the target application
- Evaluation of the catalytic properties of reference catalysts
- Synthesis and characterization of materials
- Study of stability under operation
- Development of kinetic models
- Reactor modeling

Your Profil

Skills

General, theoretical or subject-specific knowledge:
- The candidate must have solid experience in materials science, synthesis and characterization, heterogeneous catalysis, and kinetic modeling.

Knowledge of the working environment:
- The candidate (M/F) must have experience in laboratory work and collaborative projects.

Savoirs faire opérationnels :
The candidate must possess:
- English level B2/C1 (according to the European scale)
- Very good oral and written communication skills in French and English
- The desire to work in a team

Your Work Environment

The work will be carried out at the ICPEES (Institut de chimie et Procéder pour l'Energie, l'Environnement et la Santé), UMR 7515 of the CNRS and the University of Strasbourg). The ICPEES has a total staff of around 130 people, including around 60 permanent staff and 70 non-permanent staff (PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and technical staff).
The researcher will carry out their work within the "Energie et Carburant pour un environnement durable" (ECED).

The work is part of a PEPR project 2026-2031, involving numerous academic partners.

Working conditions:

- Meals are available at a university canteen on the Cronenbourg campus, with the CNRS subsidising the cost of meals
