Missions
The objective of this postdoctoral position is to characterize high-entropy alloy nanomaterials investigated within the framework of the PEPR Diadem project “M2P2-HEA” (Multiscale Methodology for the Prediction of High-Entropy Alloy Properties, https://www.pepr-diadem.fr/projet/m2p2_hea/).
The postdoctoral researcher will rely on advanced electron microscopy techniques available at IPCMS, the coordinating laboratory of the project, to determine the structural and chemical characteristics as well as the thermal stability of these alloys. State-of-the-art transmission electron microscopes will be used, together with advanced data-processing tools and methodologies enabling high-resolution analysis of structure and chemical composition.
The work will be carried out in close collaboration with the other project partners, who are responsible for sample synthesis, complementary characterization techniques, and the measurement of catalytic properties.
Activités
- Perform analyses using electron microscopy techniques (TEM, in-situ TEM)
- Carry out structural, morphological, and chemical analysis of high entropy nano-alloys
- Collaborate closely with project partners
- Contribute to the development of physico-chemical models
- Write scientific reports and contribute to publications
Compétences
- Expertise in electron microscopy techniques
- Strong background in materials characterization
- Ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
- Good scientific communication skills (oral and written)
- Autonomy, rigor, and strong organizational skills
Contexte de travail
The recruited candidate will join the Institut de Physique et Chimie des Matériaux de Strasbourg (IPCMS), a joint CNRS–University of Strasbourg research unit, more specifically the Nanomaterials and Electron Microscopy team within the Surfaces and Interfaces department, as well as the associated experimental platform, under the supervision of O. Ersen and M. L. De Marco.
The expertise of the 3D-TEM team lies in the study of materials and physicochemical systems using in situ approaches, both in gas and liquid environments, as well as 3D reconstruction by electron tomography. The experimental platform is equipped with in situ sample holders for electron microscopy enabling experiments under gas and liquid atmospheres, and with three electron microscopes: JEOL 2100, JEOL 2100F, and JEOL Grand ARM2.
The recruited candidate will work in close collaboration with the members of the team and the experimental platform and will interact regularly with other researchers involved in the PEPR Diadem project “M2P2-HEA”.
IPCMS is located on the Cronenbourg campus in Strasbourg, approximately 20 minutes from the city center by public transportation (bus line G), and offers access to a university cafeteria for research staff.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
