Job Description
Missions
The candidate (M/F) will be tasked with exploring the potential of data science methods to (i) understand the practice of interdisciplinarity within the framework of a broad, long-term training and research program (ITI/EUR QMat) (ii) assess the feasibility of a method for characterizing magnetic materials through reconstruction based on magnonic spectra (the SWING project under the PEPR Spin program).
Activity
-Participating in the monitoring of the ITI/EUR QMat program (at the start of the assignment)
-Formatting ITI/EUR QMat data (list of projects, list of publications) and analyzing this data, particularly to measure and illustrate the degree of interdisciplinarity in the work being conducted.
-Generation of magnonic spectroscopy data (via micromagnetic simulations) and analysis of this data (inverse problem/machine learning).
Your Profil
Skills
The candidate (M/F) must hold a Ph.D. and have a strong background in data science. This position also requires some experience in project management.
Your Work Environment
The position will be based at the IPCMS (Institute of Materials Physics and Chemistry in Strasbourg), within the DMONS department (Department of Magnetism of Nanostructured Objects). The position will be funded by the ITI/EUR QMat (Quantum Science and Nanomaterials) program, involving the ANR, the University of Strasbourg, the CNRS, and the Jean-Marie Lehn Foundation, and by the SWING (Spin Waves for advanced signal processING) project of the PEPR Spin. It will involve the ITI/EUR QMat Executive Committee (in particular Matthieu Bailleul, Guillaume Schull, Boris Hippolyte, and Filipa Seica) as well as the IPCMS partners in the PEPR Spin SWING project (Matthieu Bailleul, Daniel Stoeffler, Quentin Rossi, and Marielle Hachem). IPCMS is an interdisciplinary physics and chemistry laboratory with a total staff of 230 people. Located on the Cronenbourg campus, it is easily accessible by public transportation and bicycle, just 20 minutes from Strasbourg's historic city center. The CNRS may cover up to 75% of the cost of public transportation passes, and on-site dining is available with meal subsidies from the CNRS.
