Missions
The mission of this postdoctoral contract will mainly concern the synthesis of core-shell nanomaterials based on iron oxide core and mesoporous silica shells where different structures will be tested. Another very important objective will be their chemical functionalization with the aim of producing a range of surface functionalities.
Activités
- Synthesize iron oxide nanoparticles by thermal decomposition
- Carry out syntheses of mesoporous silica coatings on these cores by modulating their structure: pore size, layer thickness, specific surface
- Characterize these nanomaterials by TEM, DLS, FTIR, DRX, isotherms adsorption, etc.
- Realize the functionalization of these nanomaterials for example by silanization routes by modulating the external groups: amine, acid, aldehyde, thiol - characterization via ATG, Zeta potential or UV/visible
Compétences
-- Chemical synthesis of inorganic nanomaterials
- Chemical functionalization, surface chemistry
- Physico-chemical characterization using various instruments: TEM, XRD, DLS, FTIR, UV/visible, Fluorescence etc.
- Drafting of protocols and results, data processing
Contexte de travail
The post-doctorate will mainly be carried out at the Institute of Physics and Chemistry of Materials of Strasbourg (IPCMS), in the department of chemistry of inorganic materials (DCMI).
The department is made up of around forty people including researchers, teacher-researchers, technical engineers, postdocs and doctoral students.
The post-doc will be under the supervision of Dr. Damien Mertz, research fellow at DCMI-IPCMS
