The candidate will develop research activities under the supervision of Florence HUBERT, professor at I2M, on the topics: mathematical modeling in oncology, differential equations, partial differential equations and their discretization, statistical interpretation of biological data.
This work is part of a large-scale project, led by Fanny Mann, DR CNRS at IBDM Marseille, which also brings together two other biology teams and a medical team. The project has received support from the National Cancer Institute, the ARC Foundation and the League against Cancer (PAIR Pancréas). This collaboration is also an opportunity within I2M to create bridges between the applied analysis team and the statistics team. More precisely, the work will consist of integrating all the biological data obtained by Fanny Mann's group into mathematical models describing the effect of the peripheral nervous system on the growth and progression of pancreatic tumors.
Research, publications in international journals and participation to the events related to the PAIR PANCREAS project.
The applicant must have a PhD in mathematics. He/she must be able to develop her/his research program in full autonomy while interacting with his supervisor and other members of the PAIR Pancreas project.
University research center (based on 2 campus : Luminy and Technopôle de Château Gombert): he/she will respect the internal rules of his research team and the normal rules of behaviour :
Constraints and risks
He/she will report on her work to the scientific committee of the PAIR PANCREAS project whenever requested and within delays. He/she will be entitled to receive support for travel expenses in the same conditions as the other members of the project. He/she will take the engagement of uploading his/her publications related with the PAIR PANCREAS project on the HAL website whenever these publications are submitted for publication in a scientific journal and will inform the PI.
