Missions
This project is proposed as part of an ANR-Astrid project, funded by the Defence Innovation Agency between IS2M and ICGM (Montpelier) on thermochemical heat storage. The main mission consists of the experimental study of thermochemical heat storage.
Activities
To achieve the objective of the project, the activities will be grouped into 3 tasks:
(1) Routine operation of the thermochemical heat storage apparatus : For this, the selected candidate will take charge of the existing storage pilot in the laboratory and will carry out various functional tests.
(2) Thermo-physical characterization of the storage materials: Different analyses of the material properties (that will be used for heat storage) will be conducted on the laboratory's equipment (guarded hot plate, DSC-ATG, hot-disk, hot wire, etc.)
(3) Experimental tests: in close collaboration with the researcher that perform process simulation, validation tests of the results and real operations will be performed.
Skills
The candidate must hold a PhD in the field of energy / thermal enginnering / Chemical engineering. The expected skills are:
- The Knowledge of energy systems, heat and mass transfers is required.
- The Knowledge of thermochemical heat storage systems is desirable.
- Skills in summarizing results, presenting and sharing are also expected.
- Know how to write reports of experiments
- Know how to use thermo-physical characterization techniques
- Be able to work independently
- Written and oral communication in English: minimum B2 level (according to the European Framework of Reference)
Work Context
The successful candidate will be part of the Institute of Materials Science of Mulhouse (IS2M-UMR 7361) CNRS - University of Haute Alsace, more precisely the TRM2P team "Transfers, Reactivity, Materials for Clean Processes" and will work in collaboration with the Montpellier partner (Charles Gerhardt Institute of Montpellier, UMR CNRS 5253). He or she will participate in the monthly team meetings as well as the presentation meetings and discussions with our partners (on a semi-annual basis) as part of this collaborative project. He or she will participate in a meeting in Montpellier to present his or her results and to see the characterization techniques used by our partners. The physical location is in a sector under protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR. The M/F candidate will be integrated into IS2M and will participate in the consortium.
