The core of the project, developed jointly with an industrial partner and IS2M (UMR CNRS 7361) within the framework of the French government's Recovery Plan, is based on the development of light-curing surgical adhesives. A new concept using specific monomers is developed. The systems identified as the most efficient during these studies will be evaluated as for different practical characterizations: polymerization rate, mechanical properties of the final material, bonding tests.
The main contributions of the contract researcher will be: development and optimization of the reactivity of photosensitive resins, monitoring of polymerization by different experimental techniques such as Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (RT-FTIR), differential scanning calorimetry (photo-DSC), photorheology and others to be defined according to the evolution of the project. This research work will also be accompanied by a detailed study and characterization of the final properties of the polymers and adhesives obtained from a chemical and mechanical point of view. All the experimental data collected will also have to be compared with current references.
The recruited researcher will have to be able to work in a team, as well as to ensure the exchanges with the industrial partner (e.g. participation in the writing of reports, presentations...).
Main tasks :
- Development and optimization of the reactivity of photosensitive adhesives
- Polymerization monitoring by different experimental techniques.
- Evaluation of the final properties of polymers.

The Mulhouse Materials Science Institute (IS2M) is a joint CNRS-University of Haute-Alsace research unit (UMR 7361). Due to its multidisciplinary character, its scientific impact and its interactions with other fields, the laboratory constitutes one of the structuring forces of the landscape of materials and their applications in the academic and industrial world, both at regional and national level. IS2M has been able to define its identity and acquire undeniable visibility in the highly competitive international research landscape.

The contractual researcher will be integrated into the CRM team within IS2M, led by Prof. Jacques Lalevée, specialized in the study of the photopolymerization reaction where all the experimental techniques mentioned above are accessible.
