Missions
The aim of the engineer (M/F) is to instrument a wireless infrastructure to measure the energy consumption of next-generation Wi-Fi networks.
Activités
- set up a structure to collect energy measurements via connected power meters for access points, network equipment (MQTT, connected power meter, Linux)
- instrument Raspbery Pi Compute Module 5 boards to measure PCIe port energy consumption via digital acquisition boards such as digital oscilloscopes
- develop data processing solutions to analyze measurements and provide a dashboard (Python, Pandas, seaborn)
Compétences
- software development in Python for data collection and processing
- knowledge of the C language for the embedded part
- skills in computer architecture for power consumption per card (PCIe, power supply, etc.) - ability to write scripts to automate tests (e.g. Python) )
- know how to write scripts to automate tests (e.g. Python)
- master notebooks for reproducibility of experiments and data analysis (Jupyter)
- have a B2 level command of English for French speakers (C1)
- have a C1 level command of English for non-French speakers (no minimum level of French required in this case)
Contexte de travail
The engineer (M/F) will work in the ICube laboratory, which specializes in engineering sciences and has almost 700 members. He/she will work at the laboratory's Illkirch-Graffenstaden site, in the API pole of the innovation park.
The engineer (M/F) will be part of the Networks team, a leading international research team on communication infrastructures, with a strong focus on energy consumption for several years. He/she will be managed by Fabrice Theoleyre (research director and scientific leader of the project). The engineer (M/F) will be integrated into the laboratory's inetlab platform headed by Guillaume Schreiner (Research Engineer). He/she will be able to collaborate with engineers with skills in data processing, electronics and network communications. The engineer (M/F) will be able to interact with PhD students in the Networks team working on the subject of energy saving in wireless networks. The engineer (M/F) may participate in the drafting of scientific publications resulting from the developments made.
