Reference : UMR7342-MARBRA-006
Number of position : 1
Workplace : MARSEILLE 13
Date of publication : 18 September 2024
Type of Contract : FTC Scientist

Missions

The recruited person will be responsible for conducting a parametric study of flows induced by the active contraction of artificial vessels within a network of vessels. The goal is to determine the shapes and speeds of contraction waves as well as the flow rates induced by these contractions. These studies will be accompanied by theoretical modeling of the observations obtained.

Activities

The recruited person will develop new experimental and theoretical methods. Flow visualization and active contractions will be performed using a PIV setup and sensors placed within the channels. Theoretical modeling will involve solving Stokes flows coupled with the active deformation of the walls.

Skills

The expected qualities include scientific rigor, strong theoretical and experimental skills, an interest in developing analyses using Python, and a passion for advancing knowledge.

Work Context

The IRPHE Laboratory specializes in fluid mechanics. It regularly benefits from the recruitment of permanent researchers at CNRS, Aix-Marseille University, and Centrale Marseille. The position is in a sector related to the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore, in accordance with regulations, your appointment must be authorized by the competent authority of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR).

Constraints and risks

The recruited person must demonstrate strong experimental and theoretical skills in fluid mechanics.
