As part of the APOLLO project 'Automated Platform for Organoids, Liver, and Lab On-Chip' led by the industrial partner Fluigent and funded by BPI (Biotherapies and Bioproduction of Innovative Therapies programme), develop biological liver-on-a-chip models suitable for the evaluation of biopharmaceuticals (antibodies, nanobodies, …)
Activity
• Develop and validate protocols for the formation of multicellular liver organoids in microfluidic devices (hepatocytes, LSECs, Kupffer cells)
• Characterise the reconstructed tissue: biologically, mechanically and functionally, using the laboratory's various methods or other specialist expertise.
• Study the response of the liver-on-a-chip following exposure to biopharmaceuticals (immunolabelling, omics, functional assays)
• Conduct testing campaigns and evaluate prototypes supplied by partners
• Draft scientific reports and publications
• Supervise Master's students
• Participate in the project's scientific and technical meetings
• Participate in scientific conferences.
Your Profil
Skills
Education: PhD in tissue engineering, bioengineering or cell biology.
Technical skills: experience in cell culture and organoid production, immunolabelling, PCR. Microfluidics would be an asset
Ability to work in a team and collaborate with industrial partners
Project management, scientific writing
Fluency in English (written and spoken)
Your Work Environment
The successful candidate will work at the University of Technology of Compiègne within the BMBI laboratory (CNRS UMR 7338) and, more specifically, within the BioFab research area, whose objectives are to contribute fundamental knowledge to tissue engineering and to establish alternative experimental models to animal testing (NAM).
The work will be carried out on the INGESYSBIO meta-platform: Engineering of native or reconstructed biological systems (https://bmbi.utc.fr/recherche/meta-plateformes ): Laboratories L1 and L2, microfluidics and microfabrication platform, histology, immunolabelling, Airyscan confocal microscope, qPCR, and additive manufacturing equipment.
Collaboration with our industrial partners is planned (site visits, hosting engineers at our platforms).
