Missions
The CNRS is looking for a coordinator of the EPOS ON project, a major EU-funded project in the field of earth sciences (www.epos-eu.org/on)'s 'user training and engagement' work package. It aims to consolidate and advance the European EPOS (RI) research infrastructure for geosciences by ensuring its long-term sustainability and increasing its impact. By enhancing the EPOS service portfolio and encouraging new collaborations, the project will meet the needs of diverse communities and expand access to scientific data and services for a wider user base, Including early career researchers. In the proposed contract, emphasis is placed on developing activities to stimulate user engagement in EPOS interdisciplinary data services across geosciences. The objective is first to support scientific discovery and advance the role of EPOS in addressing societal challenges such as risk management and environmental sustainability. In France, the CNRS (Centre national de la recherche scientifique) is one of the main partners of EPOS.
The EPOS ON (www.epos-eu.org/on) project aims to consolidate and advance the EPOS European Research Infrastructure (RI) for the geosciences by ensuring its long-term sustainability and increasing its impact. By enhancing the EPOS services portfolio and fostering new collaborations, the project will address the needs of diverse communities, and expand access to scientific data and services for a broader user base, including early career researchers. A strong focus is on developing activities to boost user engagement with EPOS interdisciplinary data services across the geosciences in order to support scientific discovery and to advance EPOS' role in tackling societal challenges such as risk management and environmental sustainability. In France, the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) is a primary partner of EPOS.
Activités
The person recruited will coordinate the training and user engagement work package within the EPOS-ON project. This role will be to develop, oversee and provide training initiatives, strengthen user engagement and encourage collaboration within an international research environment. Within the EPOS community, you will find challenging and varied work and join a wide and diverse network of people from Europe and beyond. The work will be based at the CNRS Géoazur laboratory in Sophia Antipolis near Nice, with regular trips to the EPOS headquarters in Rome and to other EPOS participants. Your main language of work will be English. You will have access to CNRS continuing vocational training offers.
Compétences
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE =
Education: a masters-level university degree is required; the field of study is open.
● Proven background in engagement and training, preferably in scientific, technical or IT fields.
● Minimum 2 years of experience in coordinating work packages or tasks, preferably within Horizon Europe projects or similar EU-funded programmes.
REQUIRED SKILLS =
● Demonstrated instructional design skills for creating engaging, effective training content and experience in the design and implementation of training plans
● Experience in user engagement and facilitation techniques, both in online and live sessions
● Strong English language proficiency (equivalent to C2 level), with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
● Advanced IT proficiency, with demonstrated experience in Moodle or similar learning platforms as both a user and trainer.
● Leadership and coordination skills, with the ability to work under deadlines and effectively guide teams.

About CNRS Géoazur and EPOS =
The job [KS5] will be based at Géoazur laboratory on the Campus Azur of the CNRS (French National Centre for Scientific Research) at Sophia Antipolis (Valbonne -06). Géoazur is a pluridisciplinary research unit composed of geophysicists, geologists and astronomers who are working on big-picture questions such as natural hazards (e.g., earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis) and their associated risks, solid earth geodynamics, imaging of the earth's interior, and geodesy applied to the earth and objects in nearby space. Géoazur comprises over 100 permanent staff employed by four research organizations: Université Côte d'Azur, Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur,
