Job Description
Missions
The successful candidate will carry out theoretical and methodological work in statistical inference applied to animal behaviour on a large scale, using large open datasets. They will take the scientific lead on the project and help to establish its physical significance, in collaboration with Pierre Ronceray and Ricardo Martinez Garcia.
Activity
Development of theoretical models and statistical inference methods (statistical physics, stochastic processes); analysis of large, heterogeneous behavioural datasets from open sources; physical interpretation of results and drafting of publications; participation in the group's activities and exchanges within the Centuri community.
Your Profil
Skills
A solid grounding in statistical physics and data analysis; experience in statistical inference or stochastic modelling; proficiency in at least one scientific programming language; the ability to work independently, creativity and critical thinking; an interest in interdisciplinary work at the interface between physics and biology
Your Work Environment
The position is based at CINaM (Marseille), within Pierre Ronceray's research group. It is a one-year fixed-term contract, renewable, with funding guaranteed for two years through an ERC grant. The successful candidate will join the Centuri community.
