Missions
Orbitronics features the control of the orbital character of the electron's wave function that can be generated, manipulated, and detected in heterostructures lacking inversion symmetry. The objective of this project is to develop quantum transport simulations based on tight-binding modeling to explore orbital transport in metallic heterostructures and new means to control it. Interplay with magnons, phonons, and ferroelectricity will be investigated in close collaboration with experimentalists.
Activities
- Development of theoretical models for strong bonds and quantum transport calculations
Skills
Theoretical physics, quantum transport theory, ab initio calculations. The person recruited must hold a doctorate in physics or materials science.
Work Context
This position is sponsored by Agence Nationale de la Recherche (ANR). Collaboration with experimental groups at CINaM, Albert Fert lab, and Johannes Gutenberg University (Mainz, Germany) is expected.
The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
