Missions
The Groupe de Recherche en Droit, Economie et Gestion (GREDEG - UMR 7321) is recruiting a 12-month postdoctoral fellow for its research project entitled "MOdélisation de la Vigilance épistémique et de ses Institutions dans la Communication des Informations partagées sur internet (MOVICI)". This project has received funding from the French government, managed by the Agence Nationale de la Recherche under the Investissements d'Avenir UCAJEDI project, reference no. ANR-15-IDEX-01.
The MOVICI research project aims to better describe, understand and explain the role of epistemic vigilance in the communication of information on the Internet. More precisely, its aim is to study how, through collective reasoning, the institutions of epistemic vigilance (Sperber et al., 2010 ; Szegofi et Heintz, 2022) can help to promote/limit the circulation of good/bad information. Based on theoretical and empirical research, this project should lead to multi-agent modeling of the role of these institutions (Butler et al., 2020) so that we can test different scenarios and support the discussions that political and economic players are currently developing on the issue of misinformation in the digital age.
The MOVICI project partners are :
- Jean-Sébastien Vayre, lecturer in sociology at Université Côte d'Azur (UCA) and member of GREDEG;
- Serena Villata, CNRS research director and member of the I3S laboratory;
- Christophe Heintz, lecturer in cognitive science at the Central European University (CEU) and member of the Social Mind Center;
- Tiffany Morisseau, researcher in cognitive psychology at the Université de Paris Cité (UPCité) and member of the LAPEA;
- Sahbi Benlamine, research associate in computer science at Université de Montréal (UdeM) and member of the HERON laboratory;
- Roxane Obadia, CLEMI project manager for the Nice academy.
In collaboration with the various project partners, the candidate will be responsible for :
- design and test an experimental research protocol;
- implement the protocol with 80 participants;
- structure and process the data collected (eye tracker, Face Reader and navigation traces);
- work on publishing the results of the study;
- if possible, design and test several agent-based simulation models (SMA).
