Job Description

Missions

The postdoctoral researcher's objective in this project will be (i) to synthesize new, more affinity- and selective ligands of the 5HT7 receptor by leveraging the reactivity of heteroaromatic rings (substitutions, metallocatalyzed coupling reactions, etc.) and (ii) to optimize the ADMET properties of the lead molecule. The synthesis of the target molecules and their precursors will utilize a variety of purification and analytical techniques (chromatography, precipitation, NMR, IR, LC/MS, HRMS, etc.).

Activity

- Perform multistep synthesis of organic molecules capable of binding to the 5-HT7 receptor. - Purify the molecules for evaluation in biological media. - Carry out complete structural characterization of these molecules (NMR, HRMS, pf, etc.). - Present results weekly to the team and quarterly to consortium members. - Write a final activity report including all experimental results.

Your Profil

Skills

The candidate must hold a PhD in organic chemistry with excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of organic chemistry. Standard purification and analytical techniques must also be well mastered (flash chromatography, NMR, HRMS, IR, etc.).

The candidate should be able to interact in a multicultural environment, as the team is involved in programs such as Erasmus and PHC (Hubert Curien Partnerships).

Your Work Environment

The research project will take place at the University of Orléans, within the Institute of Organic and Analytical Chemistry, in the Heterocyclic Chemistry – Bioactive Molecules and Fluorescent Probes research team.
The project will be supported by the institute's infrastructures (HRMS, 250 MHz and 400 MHz NMR, analysis/purification platform).
The candidate's work will be supervised on a daily basis by Prof. Franck Suzenet, Dr. Marie-Aude Hiebel, and Dr. Paul Demay-Drouhard.
The progress of the project will also be evaluated during weekly group seminars and through biannual meetings with the entire consortium.
