Job Description

Missions

Study and publication of the contemporary defensive phases of Amphissa (Greece)
Study and publication of the contemporary levels (19th-20th centuries) of the fortification of Amphissa (Greece) and the parallel of Delphi (Greece) as part of the ANR AIDDA program. Participation in data collection, direction of a stratigraphic survey.

Activity

Survey and study using architectural archaeology methods of contemporary defensive structures at the reference site (Amphissa, Greece) and the comparison site (Delphi, Greece)
Participation in ANR AIDDA missions, productions, and scientific activities
Participation in data collection through responsibility for a stratigraphic survey
Participation in data collection through the gathering of testimonies and consultation of archives
Study and synthesis based on all types of available sources in liaison with and under the authority of the ANR AIDDA coordinator, production of written, graphic, and image contributions on the research topic defined here, intended for publication for different audiences and by all possible means (articles, conference contributions, website, visits)

Your Profil

Skills

Doctorate or equivalent in archaeology
Proven experience in stratigraphic excavation (several excavation campaigns as an excavation intern and at least two excavation campaigns as a site manager)
Surveys and analyses in architectural archaeology (in-depth skills in graphic and photographic surveys, topography, study and restoration of military structures dating from the 1930s to the 1950s)
Identification, reading, and analysis of archives, all types of media (in-depth skills).
Fluency in modern Greek (read and spoken)
Proven experience working in an international environment, particularly Greek-speaking
Oral survey techniques

Your Work Environment

Work in libraries and archives (any relevant locations in France and abroad).
Participation in at least 12 weeks of fieldwork (Amphissa and Delphi, Greece) during the contract period.
