Numerical simulations of the evolution of a protoplanetary disk (gas and dust) undergoing accretion from the interstellar medium
Simulations of planetesimal formation
Comparison of the results with the observational and cosmochemical constraints


Development of computer codes (co-responsible)
Management of simulations (responsible)
Analysis of the results (responsible)
Presentation of results (conferences, publications) (co-responsible)


Scientific programming in Fortran and/or C language
Experience in scientific simulations
Knowledge about partial differential equations

Work Context

This post-doc research will be conducted in the framework of the project HolyEarth: "a holistic approach to understand Earth formation", funded by the l'ERC (PI: A. Morbidelli). The candidate will work in close relationship with the other members of the team (4-5 persons in Nice plus the cosmochemical team of Prof. Kleine in Münster, Germany) but also, more generally with the team of theoretical planetary science of Laboratoire Lagrange (~30 people), which is based in the historical site (Mont Gros) of Observatoire de la Côte d'Azur in Nice.
