Job Description
Missions
The candidate (M/F) will join a research team specializing in the study of epigenetic and transcriptional mechanisms in Drosophila. The project aims to characterize chromatin organization and gene expression during pupal wing development by combining high-throughput sequencing approaches (ATAC-seq, Cut&Run).
Activity
Analysis of chromatin structure and genomic accessibility: o Conduct ATAC-seq and Cut&Run experiments on whole Drosophila pupal wings to map regulatory regions and histone modifications. o Prepare samples for sequencing and analyze the data in collaboration with the project's bioinformaticians.
Your Profil
Skills
• Molecular biology: Proficiency in techniques for dissection, fixation, and preparation of biological samples (whole tissues and isolated cells). • High-throughput sequencing: Experience with Cut&Run, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, and preparation of libraries for sequencing. • Data analysis: Basic knowledge of bioinformatics (quality control, alignment, and visualization of genomic data). Cross-functional skills • Rigor and organization: Ability to manage multiple experiments simultaneously and to document protocols accurately. • Independence and initiative: Ability to solve technical problems and optimize protocols. • Teamwork: Collaboration with biologists, bioinformaticians, and imaging engineers. • Communication: Writing reports and presenting results in French and English. Previous experience with Drosophila and/or the preparation of ATAC-seq and Cut&Run libraries would be a major asset.
Your Work Environment
The IBMD, located on the Luminy Campus, comprises approximately 220 tenured researchers, faculty members, engineers, and technicians, as well as non-tenured staff on fixed-term contracts, postdocs, doctoral students, and interns, distributed across 22 research teams and 11 technical facilities and services. The IBDM is a joint research unit under the supervision of the CNRS and the AMU, which explores the field of developmental biology and its associated pathologies. The position will be based in the “Evolution and Development of Morphology and Behavior” team, led by Benjamin PRUD'HOMME. As the laboratory includes members of various nationalities, fluency in English is essential.
