Job Description
Missions
The candidate will study the regulation of epithelial stem cell fate specification by mechanical and chemical signals during murine mammary gland development.
Activity
- Collection of mouse embryos and dissection of the mammary gland.
- Preparation of embryo or mammary gland samples for histological analysis, explant culture, or live-cell imaging.
- Establishment and maintenance of mammary epithelial cell organoids.
- Immunostaining of proteins of interest.
- Detection of RNA expression by in situ hybridization.
- Implementation of microfabrication techniques (PDMS, micropatterning) to control cell geometry, adhesion, and shape.
- 3D and 4D image analysis.
Your Profil
Skills
- Background in cell biology and/or developmental biology.
- Experience in mechanobiology or signaling dynamics is a plus.
- Experience in primary cell culture (cell isolation and culture) and tissue culture (explant culture).
- Experience in immunostaining and histology.
- Experience in fluorescence and confocal microscopy, as well as live-cell imaging.
- Animal experimentation certification.
- Experience in image analysis (ImageJ, Imaris, coding, etc.).
- Ability to work independently.
Your Work Environment
The IBDM, located on the Luminy Campus, comprises around 220 permanent staff – including researchers, lecturers and researchers, engineers and technicians – as well as non-permanent staff on fixed-term contracts, postdocs, PhD students and interns, spread across 22 research teams and 11 technical facilities and services.
The IBDM is a joint research unit under the supervision of the CNRS and the AMU, which explores the field of developmental biology and associated pathologies.
The role will be based within the 'Dynamic Regulation of Tissue Development' team led by Clémentine VILLENEUVE.
The contract is for 12 months, with the possibility of a 12-month extension.
Constraints and risks
The candidate will perform tissue fixation using standard chemical reagents.
