At the CNRS, within the IC2MP, the post-doctoral student will be responsible for the synthesis and doping of basic hydroxyflurides, as well as their physico-chemical characterizations. Catalytic tests in the liquid phase will also be carried out (aldolization of furfural).
The post doctoral student (with an experience of less than 2 years after obtaining the PhD) will contribute in particular to different aspects:
- Synthesis of fluorinated heterogeneous catalysts
- Characterization of synthesized solids (XRD, BET, TGA-MS, FTIR, microscopy, XPS ...)
- Catalytic tests in liquid phase and analysis of reaction products (GC, HPLC)
- Present the obtained results in conferences and by scientific articles
- PhD in heterogeneous catalysis or inorganic synthesis
- Physico-chemical characterizations
- Writing progress reports
- Managing meetings and teamwork
- Fluent in English
The Institute of Chemistry of Environments and Materials of Poitiers (IC2MP UMR 7285) is a multidisciplinary joint research unit (UMR) of the University of Poitiers and the CNRS (INC and INSU) in the fields of chemistry and geosciences. Created in 2012, it results from the merging of four UMR (LACCO, LCME, SRSN and HYDRASA) historically present in Poitiers for more than 40 years. It brings together about 260 people (about a hundred researchers and teacher-researchers and about 50 permanent technical staff, and around 110 non-permanent including 90 doctoral students). Since its creation, the IC2MP has developed a scientific policy around sustainable chemistry by integrating more particularly (1) the synthesis of molecules and materials using processes that save atoms and energy and (2) their interactions with natural environments (reactivity, transfer, bioaccumulation, persistence, etc.). http://ic2mp.labo.univ-poitiers.fr
The recruited postdoc will be a member of two teams MEDIACAT and SAMCat as part of a consortium of several French laboratories, part of the project FluHOMat funded by the ANR (https://anr.fr/ Project-ANR-21-CE08-0020). He/she will be under the responsibility of the ANR program coordinator.
The objective of the ANR project and the post-doctorate is to develop a new range of catalysts with controlled and adjusted acid-base properties for applications related to the valorization of biomass. Indeed, while heterogeneous acid catalysis is well mastered in the industrial world, the development of new efficient and stable catalysts, capable of catalyzing basic reactions should open a very wide field of investigation to lead to the obtaining of new products with high added value from biomass. The concern of the consortium is also to explore ways of synthesizing energy-efficient catalysts in order, in the long term, to make the use of these new catalysts viable for the industrial world.
