Missions

At the CNRS, within the IC2MP (UMR 7285), the objective of the research project is to develop an original concept of cell therapy for the targeted treatment of solid tumors. The development of innovative strategies for functionalizing cell membranes is of major interest for designing new cell therapies in the fields of oncology, regenerative medicine, and immunotherapy. In this context, IC2MP researchers have recently developed a new technology that enables the functionalization of the surface of a wide range of different cells (tumor, immune, bacterial) with artificial recognition markers. These markers make it possible to induce the association of cells that do not naturally recognize each other. We propose to explore the biological phenomena triggered by these unnatural intercellular interactions and exploit them to develop new cell therapies. We will focus in particular on interactions between tumor cells and non-pathogenic bacteria in order to design a new cancer treatment. In this context, the recruited researcher will be responsible for the design, synthesis, characterization, and preliminary evaluation of artificial recognition markers designed to functionalize cell membranes using bioorthogonal chemistry.

Activités

- Design of self-reactive molecular systems.
- Multi-step synthesis of macromolecular compounds.
- Purification and characterization of macromolecular derivatives (NMR, HPLC, HRMS).
- Monitoring of reactions by HPLC/MS.
- Supervision of interns (Master I and II).

Compétences

- Solid experience in organic synthesis, particularly in the preparation of complex macromolecular compounds.
- Good knowledge of the chemistry/biology interface.
- Experience in monitoring reactions using HPLC/MS.
- Ability to work independently on research projects.
- Good writing skills (French, English).

Contexte de travail

Recruited by the CNRS, the researcher will join the Organic Synthesis team at the Institute of Chemistry of Environments and Materials in Poitiers (IC2MP) https://ic2mp.labo.univ-poitiers.fr/. He/she will work in the Programmed Molecular Systems group, which studies molecular systems designed to understand, manipulate, and mimic biological processes. The recruited researcher will report to the head of the SMP group.
