Missions
The agent's role will be to support the project leader in the scientific and logistical management of the project. He/she will implement and carry out the planned experiments; analyze, interpret, format and present the results obtained to team and consortium members. He/she will write reports and any publications associated with the results in the context of the project. He/she will also be involved in the management of the laboratory alongside the team leader.
Activities
Main tasks :
- Implementation of the experiments planned as part of the project to study the anti-microbial role of microRNA by exposing the pathogen to microRNA and constructing genetically modified strains of P. aeruginosa producing microRNA, followed by their phenotypic analysis.
- Management of the scientific and logistical aspects of the project in close collaboration with the project leader, through his/her follow-up within the team but also within the consortium with the two other partners.
Secondary tasks :
- Involvement in the smooth technical running of the team by managing stocks and taking orders.
- Involvement in the team's scientific operations alongside the team leader through active participation in intra- and inter-team meetings.
Skills
- Several years of laboratory experience are required, with skills in formatting experimental results and writing scientific reports and articles.
- Solid experience and autonomy in molecular biology (CRISPR-Cas, RNAi) and prokaryotic physiology (general microbiology).
- Experience in handling the pathogenic bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa in BL2 containment.
- Experience in studying host-pathogen relationships required
- Desired experience in eukaryotic physiology.
Work Context
The agent will work at LCB UMR7283 located on the Joseph Aiguier campus in the 9th arrondissement of Marseille. The researcher will work within a team composed of a research director, an engineer and three doctoral students.
