Job Description
Missions
The selected candidate will participate in a project aimed at understanding the effect of thromboxane A2 on the formation of thermogenic adipocytes, both in vitro and in vivo:
• Participate in the design, implementation, and analysis of cell and molecular biology research projects.
• Conduct experiments using human and murine cell models as well as in vivo models.
• Participate in the analysis and integration of multi-omics data.
• Participate in the development and optimization of bioinformatics analysis pipelines.
• Contribute to the scientific dissemination of results (reports, publications, presentations).
Activity
Cell culture: maintenance, cell freezing/thawing, transfection, infection
Molecular biology: RT-qPCR
Cytometry
Immunohistochemistry, Western blot, histology, microscopy, etc.
Data collection, formatting, and analysis using appropriate statistical tools
Management of team inventory and orders
Drafting and updating of the team's standardized protocols.
Your Profil
Skills
• Cell and molecular biology.
• Cell culture (cell lines and primary cells), flow cytometry, etc.
• Standard molecular biology techniques (RNA/DNA/protein extraction, Western blot, RT-qPCR, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry, etc.).
• Animal experimentation.
• Bioinformatics analysis tools and statistics applied to biological data.
• Adaptability and scientific curiosity.
Your Work Environment
The research conducted by the "Vessel Formation During Development and Disease" team primarily aims to understand the mechanisms of vascular growth and remodeling. Vessel formation and maturation involve not only endothelial cells but also various other cell types—such as hematopoietic progenitors, myeloid-derived cells, pericytes, and smooth muscle cells. Our studies focus notably on a family of transcription factors (PPARs) and the importance of the WT1 protein in cardiac regeneration following cardiovascular disease and in mitigating the consequences of obesity.
In the context of obesity, our work focuses on analyzing changes in macrophage populations within the brown and white adipose tissue microenvironment; these changes can alter the secretion patterns of eicosanoids—targets of PPARs—thereby disrupting the crosstalk between macrophages and thermogenic adipocytes.
Expertise:
• Working as part of a team in a multidisciplinary environment
• Designing and conducting experiments in cell and molecular biology
• Handling primary human cells and mouse models in compliance with regulatory procedures
• Performing "omics" analyses and interpreting biological results
• Using statistical tools and data visualization software
• Writing scientific reports and presenting results concisely
Constraints and risks
- Compliance with ethical standards, biosafety protocols, and regulatory procedures.
- Handling of laboratory animal models.
- Handling of human cell lines.
- Biochemical risks, specifically the handling of toxic chemicals including, but not limited to: formaldehyde, phenol, chloroform, etc.
