Missions

In the context of the European project MILEDI funded by the FLAG-ERA HBP (https://miledi.lsmuni.lt), the research will focus on analyzing the acute impact of peptides cleaved from the amyloid precursor protein (APP) on neuronal function (synaptic plasticity and intrinsic excitability). The collected data will be used to study the peptides' effects with in silico modeling through the collaboration with our biophysics and mathematics MILEDI partners.

Activities

For this research, we will use pharmacology and in vivo viral expression of peptides coupled to field and patch-clamp electrophysiology on mouse brain slices (Willem et al Nature 2015; Pousinha et al, eLife 2017; Pousinha et al. Cell Reports 2019).

Skills

- expertise in patch-clamp electropysiology (if possible)
- expertise in scientific English necessary
- Level 1 certificate for animal experimentation (if possible)
- Skills in group work,in the piloting of research project
