Job Description

Missions

The researcher will independently conduct the characterization of autoantibodies in patients with PLA2R1-associated membranous nephropathy, from molecular characterization through in vitro and in vivo studies.

Activity

Produce various antigens (PLA2R1 and its fragments) in recombinant form.
Produce monoclonal antibodies from patients in the form of mAb, Fab, and scFv.
Characterize the molecular and functional properties of the interactions between PLA2R1 and patient antibodies, both in vitro and in vivo.
Develop inhibitors of these interactions and validate them in various assays.
Present results, interpret data, validate findings, and take initiative independently.

Your Profil

Skills

Extensive experience in molecular and cellular biology, protein engineering, and recombinant production in prokaryotic and eukaryotic systems, ideally involving antibodies and secreted proteins with disulfide bonds
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail and rigor
Skills:
In-depth mastery of techniques in structural and molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and immunology is essential.
Proficiency in using computer tools and software dedicated to data processing and the presentation of results.

Your Work Environment

Recruitment for this position is open as part of a program funded by the ANR and other sources. The researcher will work in the team Molecular Pathophysiology of Phospholipase A2 and Its Mediators, under the direct supervision of the team leader. The team is studying PLA2s and their receptor PLA2R1, which are therapeutic targets for various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
The IPMC is a multidisciplinary institute with approximately 200–250 staff members, comprising 20 research teams.
The employee will be trained on the potential risks associated with the project by the team leader upon arrival at the laboratory. The employee will also receive the employee training provided by the biological and chemical risk prevention assistants.
