Missions
The project aims to develop a wound-healing hydrogel whose composition and design are inspired by the natural, regenerative gelatinous matrix of an algae capable of repairing its own injuries. With excellent absorption capacity and tunable mechanical properties, this innovative family of gels is positioned for skin wound repair, as demonstrated by our first in vivo proof of concept. To propel our invention into the wound care market, the project seeks to demonstrate the universality of this crosslinking mechanism, produce analogues from bio-based precursors, and strengthen preclinical studies.
