Job Description
Missions
The person's mission will be to study and develop multimode optical fiber endoscopes to perform multimodal imaging based on three different nonlinear effects: Coherent Raman Spectroscopy (CARS), second harmonic generation, and nonlinear fluorescence. The laser source used in the experiments will enable the implementation of a next-generation of supercontinuum in the multimode optical fibers.
Activity
This individual's work falls within the framework of a European ERC Synergy project, "Multiprobe," which aims to combine nonlinear endoscopic imaging with cold plasma treatment for colorectal cancers. The work will consist of studying the feasibility of such a system and demonstrating its effectiveness on organoids.
1) Assembly of an endoscopic system using vibration of a multimode optical fiber
2) Imaging of cancerous tissues using coherent Raman spectroscopy
3) Imaging of cancerous tissues using second-harmonic generation
4) Imaging of cancerous tissues by measuring tissue autofluorescence
5) Testing of gas-filled optical fibers
6) Measurement of nonlinear effects observed during optical pumping
