Missions

As part of HQI's HYBQUANT Quantum House project, the postdoc will be responsible for performing calculations on QLDPC codes (Quantum LDPC codes). These are a type of quantum codes with good properties that are among the first codes that could be implemented on small quantum computers. The goal of this postdoc is to classify this type of codes to determine which types of codes might be best to implement in practice.

Activities

- Update knowledge on QLDPC codes, state of the art in classifications
- Classification of weight-2 and weight-3 QLDPC quantum codes of small dimensions for the longest possible lengths
- Use of hybrid quantum computing to obtain better results on the minimum distances of these codes.

Skills

• Error-correcting codes
• Quantum error-correcting codes
• Quantum algorithms
• Euclidean lattices, graphs

Work Context

Founded in 1968, the University of Limoges is a human-sized local university that trains more than 16,000 students and employs over 1,800 permanent staff members. At the heart of Europe, it is a major multidisciplinary higher education hub in an environment highly conducive to scientific development. Open and welcoming, it is a place teeming with interactions, with a diverse student population, efficient support structures, close-knit teams, training programs based on world-class research, and well-identified career opportunities. Its scientific excellence, with cutting-edge laboratories and large-scale partnerships, contributes to inventing the world of tomorrow. The recruitment will take place in the XLIM laboratory, a multidisciplinary joint research unit (UMR - CNRS 7252), in association with the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). The Institute brings together more than 500 people with expertise covering vast fields of electronics and microwaves, optics and (bio)photonics, mathematics, computer science, and image processing.

The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival is authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
