Job Description
Missions
In the frame of the joint-lab IRP-CNRS “FiberMed” between XLIM research institute and the Translational Biophotonics Laboratory (A*STAR Skin Research Labs, Singapore), we are developing novel biosensing probes based on (specially designed) optofluidic fibers associated with plasmonic nanotechnologies and novel biosensing strategies, with the aim of creating new diagnostic tools for liquid biopsy.
You will be in charge of:
- developing a new version of an optofluidic fiber optimized for plasmonic enhanced fluorescence (PEF),
- identifying optimal properties of functionalized plasmonic nanoparticles to enhance the PEF effect,
- characterizing and measuring the PEF enhancement of the developed fiber-probes,
- developing bio-detection methods for biomarkers in fluids, based on the use of bio-receptors (antibodies, DNA probes, etc.) and fluorescence spectroscopy,
- improving the biodetection performance of fiber-based optofluidic probes by enhancing plasmonic interactions (PFE).
You will be also in charge of co-supervising student interns, and of collaborating with our biologist collaborators involved in this multidisciplinary project.
Activity
- Improvement of biosensing performances through theoretical and experimental studies of the plasmonic interactions
- Plasmonic nano-functionalization of the optofluidic fibers and characterization of their biosensing performances.
- Realization of fluorescence spectroscopy measurements.
- Synthesis and dissemination of results
- Co-supervision of students
- Participation in project management

- Expertise in biodetection enhanced by plasmonic interactions
- Training in nanophotonics or photonics
- Experience in detecting biomarkers in fluids
Desired skills
- Knowledge of biodetection methods for proteins and nucleic acids using bioreceptors (antibodies, nucleic acid probes, etc.)
- Experience in fluorescence spectroscopy
Skills
- Autonomy
- Decision-making capacity/sense of initiative
Your Work Environment
This post-doc takes place within the framework of the FluoDiag project funded by the Nouvelle Aquitaine. The successful candidate will be attached to the XLIM research institute under the dual supervision of the CNRS and the University of Limoges. He (She) will join the “Phot-fibre” team in the “Fiber photonics and coherent photonic sources” axis. He (She) will collaborate with colleagues from A*STAR Singapore, the CAPTUR laboratory (Inserm, Limoges University Hospital, University of Limoges) and our industrial partner.
The position is located in a sector falling under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
