Job Description
Missions
Histology is commonly practiced in hospitals and consists of taking a small sample of tissue (biopsy) which is sliced and stained to be finally observed by a specialist allowing him to make a diagnosis on its cancerous nature. This process is long (1h-72h) and prevents the optimal management of patients during surgery or endoscopic exploration. This postdoctoral position aims at developing innovative deep learning algorithms to help histology classification. Both classical histology based on hematoxylin and eosin staining (H&E) and more innovative stimulated Raman histology will be considered. In stimulated Raman histology, the CH2 and CH3 images of bulk biopsy samples are acquired and virtually stained to resemble H&E images (https://doi.org/10.1364/BOE.10.005378).
Activity
This postdoctoral position aims at developing tools for classical H&E and virtual SRH staining and classification.
