Missions

The engineer develops and implements biological techniques as part of the scientific projects of a research team. In addition, the engineer will work in collaboration with researchers and team members to ensure the proper management of stocks and transgenic mouse lines through PCR genotyping.

Activités

Select and adapt protocols for the preparation and analysis of biological samples.
Perform a range of techniques, adjusting experimental conditions as needed, including electrophoresis, immunological and histological techniques, management and maintenance of genetically modified mouse lines, embryonic and postnatal tissue sampling, genotyping, PCR, and analyses using standard and confocal microscopy.
Analyze and present results, ensuring proper follow-up and quality control.
Write experimental or study reports and technical notes.
Share and teach skills to other team members.
Participate in experiments with other research teams as part of scientific collaborations within the institute or with partner institutes.
Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety principles and regulations.
Keep up to date with scientific and technological developments in the field.
Contribute to the dissemination and promotion of results through oral presentations and publications.

Contexte de travail

Our laboratory focuses on the development of the cerebral cortex, which enables the processing of sensory, motor, and cognitive information. In particular, we study the impact of immune cells and environmental perturbations on the development of brain circuits using mouse genetic models.
