Missions
The researcher will join the ANR “AxDef” project team, based at the Laboratoire SPHERE and partnered with the CGGG and the IHPST.
Activities
Study of the epistemology of axiomatic thought in the 17th and 18th centuries, with a particular focus on the scholastic tradition and its integration into mathematical practice in the early modern age. This research is part of the broader “AxDef” project, which aims to renew the history of the foundations of mathematics.
Skills
Excellent knowledge of the history of scholastic epistemology in the early modern age. Fluency in Latin, French, and English is required.
Work Context
The successful candidate will work on the ANR “AxDef” project hosted by the Laboratoire SPHERE, UMR 7219. The candidate is expected to participate in activities related to the ANR “AxDef” project, which will also take place in partner laboratories (CGGG in Aix-Marseille and IHPST in Paris).
