- Perform lithography for spin-VCSEL device fabrication ;
- Perform transport measurements at cryogenic temperatures to study I-V characteristics ;
- Perform initial electroluminescence characterizations.
Compétences
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) - Level C1 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages).
- Proficiency in UV lithography and electron beam lithography processes for fabrication of micro- and nanoscale devices.
- Experience in transport measurements at cryogenic temperatures (10-300 K).
- Knowledge of ultra-high vacuum (UHV).
- Solid background in condensed matter physics.
- Ability to work in a team and in a multicultural context.
Contexte de travail
The Institut Jean Lamour (IJL) is a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Lorraine. It is attached to the CNRS Chemistry Institute. Specializing in the science and engineering of materials and processes, it covers the following fields: materials, metallurgy, plasmas, surfaces, nanomaterials and electronics. The IJL employs 263 permanent staff (30 researchers, 134 teacher-researchers, 99 IT-BIATSS) and 394 non-permanent staff (182 PhD students, 62 post-docs/contract researchers and over 150 trainees) of 45 different nationalities. It collaborates with over 150 industrial partners, and its academic collaborations extend to some thirty countries. Its exceptional range of instruments is spread over 4 sites, the main one being located on the ARTEM campus in Nancy.
The work will be carried out within the Nanomaterials for optoelectronics team on the Pathfinder SpinDataCom project. The candidate will work at the IJL laboratory (UMR 7198) on the ARTEM campus in Nancy. Travel in Europe is to be expected.
Team 104 “Nanomaterials for optoelectronics” (https://NanoOptoSpin.ijl.cnrs.fr) of the Physics of Matter and Materials (P2M) department at the IJL is developing fundamental and applied research based on its expertise in semiconductor nanomaterials to study optical and magnetic properties via fine structural, optoelectronic and magneto-transport characterizations.
The position is available from May 1 for a period of 12 months. It will be possible to extend the contract for a further 12 months.
Le poste se situe dans un secteur relevant de la protection du potentiel scientifique et technique (PPST), et nécessite donc, conformément à la réglementation, que votre arrivée soit autorisée par l'autorité compétente du MESR.
Contraintes et risques
- Working on the cryogenic system;
- Working on the high-voltage system;
- Handling chemical solvents during lithography processes (photoresist, developer, acetone, isopropanol, etc.).
