Contexte de travail

The Institut Jean Lamour (IJL) is a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Lorraine, affiliated with the CNRS Institute of Chemistry. Specializing in material and process science and engineering, it covers the following fields: materials, metallurgy, plasmas, surfaces, nanomaterials, and electronics.
The IJL comprises 263 permanent staff (30 researchers, 134 faculty researchers, 99 technical and administrative staff) and 394 non-permanent members (182 doctoral students, 62 postdoctoral researchers/contractual scientists, and over 150 interns) from 45 different nationalities. The institute collaborates with more than 150 industrial partners and maintains academic partnerships in approximately 30 countries. Its exceptional instrumental facilities are distributed across four sites, with the primary one located on the ARTEM campus in Nancy.
The work will be conducted as part of the SpinDataCom project within the "Nanomaterials for Optoelectronics" team (https://NanoOptoSpin.ijl.cnrs.fr) in the Physics of Matter and Materials (P2M) department of the IJL. This team carries out fundamental and applied research in the field of semiconductor nanomaterials to study their optical and magnetic properties through advanced structural, optoelectronic, and magneto-transport characterizations.
The SpinDataCom project (EIC Pathfinder Open 2024), coordinated by Yuan Lu (CNRS researcher at the IJL), brings together academic and industrial partners from four European countries. The project aims to revolutionize terrestrial and space communications by combining spintronics with semiconductor lasers.
The successful candidate will work at the IJL laboratory (UMR 7198) on the ARTEM campus in Nancy. Travel within Europe is expected. The position offered is a part-time role; the work schedule will be defined with the candidate and can be aligned with another part-time professional activity. Remote work is possible, but on-site presence in Nancy is required at least once a week.
