Job Description
Missions
Task 1: Synthesis and characterization of plasmonic nanoparticles
Task 2: Conjugation of plasmonic nanoparticles to biomolecules of interest (ligands, bioreceptors, etc.) and characterization of the nanobioconjugates
Activity
Activity 1: The Engineer will be responsible for synthesizing plasmonic nanoparticles of various sizes and shapes, based on protocols from the literature or previously established in the laboratory.
Activity 2: The Engineer will carry out the conjugation of nanoparticles to target biomolecules according to protocols from the literature or established in the laboratory.
Activity 3: The Engineer will characterize the produced nanoparticles and nanobioconjugates using appropriate analytical methods (absorption spectroscopy, dynamic light scattering (DLS), zeta potential analysis, transmission electron microscopy, etc.).
Activity 4: The Engineer will draft synthesis and analysis reports for the nano-objects they have produced.
Your Profil
Skills
Master nanoparticle synthesis
Ability to use standard nanomaterial characterization techniques and interpret the collected data
Ability to work collaboratively with other personnel involved in the project
Apply health and safety regulations
Use literature search tools
Your Work Environment
The engineer's activities fall within the scope of the "Plasmosens" project, funded by the Defense Innovation Agency (AID), whose main objective is to design and implement high-performance, innovative analytical tools for the detection and quantification of toxic species of chemical or microbial origin, likely to be present in various matrices. The targeted analytical devices are optical biosensors using plasmonic nanoparticles as transducing agents. Combined with a portable reader and microfluidic systems, these devices could be used directly in the field for simple and rapid analysis.
