Job Description
Missions
The engineer will be responsible for measuring the cluster galaxy mass ans luminosity functions with Euclid DR1 data and to publish scientific results related to these measurements in one referred paper.
Activity
- Mesurement of the galaxy luminosity and mass function in clusters detected by Euclid.
- Publication of the scientific results in a reference paper
Your Profil
Skills
- Master in astrophysics or equivalent.
- Analysis of galaxy catalog at large scale.
- Good experience in python and coding in general.
- Team work experience and respect of deadline.
- Capability of writing and presenting results in English.
- Research in astrophysics, cosmology, galaxy formation and evolution.

The Euclid space mission of the European Space Agency (ESA) is the flagship cosmology mission for the coming decade, giving the European community a leading role in the field.
The mission aims to probe the nature of the dark sector : dark energy and dark matter (https://www.esa.int/Science_Exploration/Space_Science/Euclid)
Our team at APC is responsible for developing software for measuring the cluster galaxy mass and luminosity functions and for the pubication of the Euclid DR1 cluster galaxy mass and luminosity functions.
