Missions

LOCEAN is looking to recruit a young researcher specializing in the impacts of climate change on ecosystems in tropical coastal regions. The original and promising scientific project will be integrated into the laboratory's scientific strategy. In this context, priority will be given to a candidate who is aiming for a research position (SU or IRD or CNRS or MNHN) at LOCEAN in 2026-2028.

Activités

The candidate will contribute to LOCEAN's activities focused on understanding the impacts of climate change on ecosystems in tropical coastal regions. In particular, he or she will participate in efforts to understand the ecosystem dynamics of tropical upwellings, working closely with academic and operational partners in the countries concerned. The candidate will therefore be integrated into LOCEAN's projects in the South. He or she will also work on preparing his or her application for a research position. In particular, he or she will be proactive in preparing his or her application with LOCEAN researchers.

Contexte de travail

The candidate will be welcomed at LOCEAN as part of the PROTEO or VALCO team. He or she will enjoy the standard working conditions at LOCEAN (office, computer account, printer, etc.). He or she will also receive the full support of LOCEAN researchers in preparing for research competitions.

Contraintes et risques

The candidate undertakes to apply for the researcher recruitment competition of one of LOCEAN's supervisory bodies within one year of being hired and to prepare for it in collaboration with LOCEAN's research teams.
