Missions
The arrival of large galaxy surveys such as Euclid poses many modeling challenges. The COLIBRI ERC aims precisely to develop new theoretical and numerical tools to overcome one of these challenges: baryon modeling.
The CDD will have two missions within the framework of this ERC: i) to develop new models for the geometry of the cosmic web, taking into account the bias of baryons, and ii) to implement “nulling” techniques to predict the weak gravitational lensing signal at quasi-linear scales, particularly with regard to rare events (specifically, peak distribution).
Activités
The CDD will develop perturbative models for projects 1 and 2. To this end, he will collaborate with Sandrine Codis and her PhD student Anais Meunier.
Compétences
A working knowledge of mathematical methods for cosmology is essential. The CDD ( who will have between 0 and 6 years of experience) will participate in the group's activities (journal club, welcoming foreign researchers, mentoring young researchers, etc.), so an appetite for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and scientific leadership within the group is desirable.
Contexte de travail
The work will be carried out within the Cosmology and Galaxy Evolution Laboratory of the DAp.
