Job Description

Missions

To evaluate the role of the GATA6 transcription factor in the growth of melanoma cell xenografts in isogenic mice; to determine how GATA6 modulates the tumor immune microenvironment (immunohistochemical staining of tumor sections, transcriptomic analyses by RT-qPCR and RNA-seq); determine how GATA6 modifies the response to immunotherapy by injecting animals bearing xenografts with anti-PD1 (measurement of tumor growth, analyses of the immune microenvironment).

Activity

- Perform xenografts of murine melanoma cells in
isogenic immunocompetent mice.
- Evaluate tumor growth and collect tumor samples
for histological and molecular analysis.
- Analyze high-throughput transcriptomic and genomic data
- Perform immunostaining on tumor sections
- Functionally coordinate one or more projects involving two people
- Mentor a research assistant (ITA) in this project's work

Your Profil

Skills

- Knowledge:
Hold a recent Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology of melanoma with solid knowledge of transcription factors and immuno-oncology, and publications in at least one of these fields.
-Skills:
Have solid experience in cell biology, the culture and analysis of melanoma cell lines, and the generation, management, and analysis of xenograft tumors; and the generation and analysis of high-throughput genomic, transcriptomic, and scRNA-seq data.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to integrate into a multidisciplinary team, interact and communicate with people from different fields; fluency in English is essential (Level B2–C1).

Your Work Environment

The CNRS (National Center for Scientific Research), which holds the HR Excellence in Research designation, is one of the world's largest public multidisciplinary research organizations.
The IGBMC (Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology), one of Europe's leading biomedical research centers, is a Joint Research Unit affiliated with the CNRS, INSERM, and the University of Strasbourg.
The successful candidate will work at the IGBMC and benefit from an exceptional international scientific environment. The IGBMC comprises approximately forty research teams divided into four scientific departments, along with state-of-the-art technological platforms on site.
The postdoctoral fellow will join the “Gene Expression Regulation and Cancer” team. The transcription factor GATA6 plays an important role in EMT and melanoma cell resistance. The host team has demonstrated its role in interferon-gamma-induced resistance to MAP kinase inhibitors and in the regulation of immunomodulatory genes in melanoma cells.
This project aims to evaluate its potential as a regulator of the antitumor immune response.
The site is accessible by tram (Line A, Campus Illkirch station) from the Strasbourg train station or by car (parking available). Public transportation costs are partially covered. The successful candidate will have access to the CROUS cafeteria.
