Job Description

Missions

To design and carry out the production, purification, and biophysical characterization of GPCR receptors within lipid nanodisks. The goal is to propose a mechanistic model of how the physical properties of the membrane affect the energy landscape of GPCR receptors.

Activity

- Produce and purify membrane and lipoprotein receptors (heterologous expression in E. coli and SF9 cells)
- Characterize these proteins using biochemical, pharmacological, and biophysical techniques (NMR, cubic-phase crystallography)
- Disseminate the results through publications, oral presentations, and posters at national and international conferences.

Your Profil

Skills

- Knowledge of the biochemistry of membrane proteins
- Knowledge of the biochemistry of lipids
- Knowledge of the pharmacology of RCPGs
- Knowledge of NMR is a plus

- Ability to purify proteins using chromatography
- Ability to perform eukaryotic cell cultures
- Ability to handle membrane proteins in detergent solutions and reconstitute them into lipid nanodisks
- Ability to write in English
- Ability to provide scientific guidance to interns (Bachelor's to Master's level)

- Scientific rigor
- Reliability and traceability of results (data management, lab notebook)
- Independence and initiative in conducting experiments
- Ability to work as part of a team within a multidisciplinary unit

Your Work Environment

The project is part of the ANR “MECHANOACT-I” program under the scientific supervision of Laurent Catoire at UMR 7099 (BPM - Biochemistry of Membrane Proteins), directed by Martin Picard.
The project aims to elucidate the coupling mechanism between the mechanical properties of the lipid membrane and eukaryotic receptors.
