Job Description
Missions
The Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris (IAP) is launching a call for applications for a postdoctoral position in astrophysics to work with Dr. Jean-Baptiste Fouvry and his research group, funded by the ANR BEYOND-BL grant. The objective of this project is to generalise the Balescu-Lenard equation beyond the approximations for which this equation was initially derived.
Activity
The postdoc will focus on the development of non-perturbative techniques (e.g., renormalization) in the context of the long-term dynamics of long-range interacting systems.
Your Profil
Skills
Candidates must have a strong expertise in dynamics, kinetic theory and nonlinear physics.
Your Work Environment
The postdoctoral research will take place at the Paris Institute of Astrophysics, in collaboration with Jean-Baptiste Fouvry's team, funded by the ANR BEYOND-BL program. The postdoctoral position will last one year. The contract could begin in October 2026.
