Development of original hypervalent compounds as a new tool for sustainable organic synthesis.
The researcher will be involved in the very innovative, high risk/high gain project in organic of rare hypervalent compounds. Such unique reagents will further be evaluated in unprecedented metal-free C-H functionalization reactions thus paving a way towards more sustainable and eco-responsible organic synthesis.
Education: Ph.D. in organic/molecular chemistry
Experience in organic synthesis, development of new methodologies. Previous experience in asymmetric synthesis/catalysis, the chemistry of hypervalent compounds and/or electrochemistry will be a significant advantage.
Expected competencies/experience in organic synthesis, synthesis/isolation, and characterization of unstable compounds, synthesis under inert conditions, experience in electrochemistry/electrosynthesis.
The candidate should have good communication skills and be able to disseminate his research (written and oral communication). HE/she should be able to integrate the team. Good level in

This project will be conducted in the LIMA laboratory, UMR 7042, at the University of Strasbourg, ECPM (Ecole de Chimie, Polymères et Matériaux), within the team SynCat. LIMA is the largest department in organic chemistry in Grand Est. The team Syncat is recognized or its implication in the development of new methodologies, and in particular by means of C-H activation / C-H functionalization. Our laboratory is perfectly equipped to conduct research in organic chemistry and all necessary analytic tools are available within LIMA (NMR 400 and 500 MHz, GC-MS, TLC-MS, chiral HPLC, IR, polarimeter, glovebox, etc.).
