Missions
A researcher position of one year is available at LMA as part of the ANR project "WaDiToM" (Waveguiding by disorder induced topological metamaterials).. The objective is to theoretically study acoustic wave propagation in complex media, in particular the phenomenon of anti-localization.
Activités
The project consists in developing analytical and/or numerical approaches to understand changes in wave propagation induced by weak disorder in a two-dimensional periodicmedium. In two dimensions, disorder usually lead to wave localization: propagative waves become evanescent. However, some two-dimensional systems have an anomalous behavior at low disorder: propagation is favored by disorder rather than decreased. The aim of this project is to determine which acoustic configurations allow this phenomenon to be observed.
Compétences
A good theoretical knowledge of metamaterials/phononic crystals is expected, and possibly also in topological insulation and/or Anderson localization.
Contexte de travail
The project will take place at the Laboratory of Mechanics and Acoustics (LMA), a joint research unit AMU-CNRS-Central Mediterranean, UMR 7031. Its main areas of expertise are the mechanics of solids (structures, materials, interfaces) and acoustics (propagationof waves in complex fluid and solid environments).
