Job Description
Missions
This postdoctoral project aims to elucidate the role of histone S-glutathionylation in the regulation of DNA compaction. The cysteine residue of histone H3 has been shown to be S-glutathionylated both in vitro and in vivo (García-Giménez et al., Free Radic. Biol. Med., 2021) and to correlate positively with acetylation levels. However, its effects on nucleosome dynamics and its interplay with other histone modifications remain unknown. Using all-atom molecular dynamics simulations and enhanced sampling techniques, the project will investigate how S-glutathionylation modulates nucleosome structure and dynamics, alone and in combination with other histone PTMs. This work will provide atomic-scale insights into oxidative chromatin regulation and open perspectives for understanding redox-dependent epigenetic mechanisms and future therapeutic strategies.

Your Profil
Skills
We welcome applications from candidates with less than two years of postdoctoral experience after PhD defense.
Required : PhD in computational biochemistry, biophysics or computational chemistry, and experience with at least one molecular dynamics package.
Your Work Environment
The position is funded by the ANR CHROM project (ANR-24-CE29-2473) and will be carried out in the group of Dr. Emmanuelle Bignon, at the Laboratoire de Physique et Chimie Théorique (LPCT) in Nancy, France. LPCT is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive research environment.
