Job Description
Missions
Basic research on an experiment with cold atoms.
Activity
Maintaining and improving the user experience.
Implementing new instruments and protocols (tests, calibrations, etc.).
Data acquisition and analysis.
Writing reports and scientific articles; giving presentations at conferences.
Co-supervising interns.
Your Profil
Skills
Technical skills: atomic physics, instrumental optics, laboratory techniques.
Interpersonal skills: team work, communication in English
Your Work Environment
The position is in the cold atom group of the Institut de Physique de Nice.
The scientific context involves an experiment with cold atoms trapped in a one-dimensional optical lattice. Modulating the atomic density creates a photonic bandgap and Bragg reflection. We are planning several experiments to characterize the bandgap and use it in quantum memory protocols.
