Job Description

Missions

In a brain stroke, the formation of thrombus blocks blood flow and prevents oxygenation of certain areas of the brain. Treatment is based on rapid delivery of the thrombolytic agent (t-PA), but the delivery of the drug is limited by the obstruction of the vessels.
In this project, the post-doctoral fellow will be tasked to improve the transport of a thrombolytic drug (t-PA) to the clot using self-assembling magnetic micro-swimmers. He/she will also contribute to the implementation of a system of self-piloting and guidance of these micro-swimmers as well as controlled release of the t-PA and monitoring of the dissolution of clots, in combination with a real-time optical visualization in a microfluidic network.

Activity

• Study of the fidelity of the movement of micro-swimmers to the target trajectory
• Coupling of the release of the active ingredient and the dissolution of model clots (fibrin matrices from commercially available plasma)
• Analysis of the results

Your Profil

Skills

Motivated by experimental and technical work, he/she is expected to work in a team in the context of industrial research and development.
Technical skills:
• Experiments in microfluidics.
• Experiment on the physico-chemistry of magnetic colloids
• Coding/coupling with direct visualizations of displacements
• Basic knowledge in biophysics and neurophysiology in particular will be appreciated

Your Work Environment

INPHYNI's activities are based on three main axes: Waves and quantum physics; Photonics; and Nonlinear physics, complex fluids and biophysics. The projects developed around these themes cover theoretical, fundamental and experimental aspects as well as applications. These projects benefit in particular from the support of technological platforms and high-performance administrative and technical shared services. Experimental activities are supported by two technological platforms belonging to the institute: Optics and Photonics; and Soft Matter, the latter including a clean room. The institute's shared services include a chemistry laboratory, a mechanical workshop and an electronics workshop.
The position is located in a sector under the protection of scientific and technical potential (PPST), and therefore requires, in accordance with the regulations, that your arrival be authorized by the competent authority of the MESR.
